JOB SUMMARY (overview of job): Under direction of the Community Education Coordinator and/or Wellness Coordinator, is responsible to present Hospital-approved class curriculum to individuals who have registered for a Community Education Class or in-house education. Document classes taught and complete other related paperwork in a timely manner. Attend renewal instructor education as needed or as approved.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one-year experience related to class topic. A high level of interpersonal skills in order to effectively represent the Hospital to outside agencies and class participants. General knowledge of audio visual and specific class equipment. Ability to motivate students and provide age/developmental-specific appropriate information.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current certification and/or training in field of instruction. Current driver's license.
Aptitudes : Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to communicate positively on the telephone, and over e-mail. Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing class records. Ability to perform mathematical calculations to complete reports and statistical information, manage billing for classes. Ability to work under tight class schedules. Confidentiality and professionalism. Universal precautions. Performs work in a safe manner/performance improvement. Provides age/developmental-specific appropriate care.
