JOB SUMMARY(overview of job): This position under the supervision of the Department Director is responsible for the catering functions when assigned in accordance with department standards and food safety regulations. This position must use the hospital's room & meal reservation software daily to efficiently schedule meal set up, service and tear down of coffees, meals and events for multiple meeting room uses each day. The set up, holding and service of the foods must utilize food safe practices as well as standards for attractive meal service. This position must communicate with meeting planners to resolve situations where the space reserved will not accommodate the event setup and use in the time reserved as well as production staff for the plan for each event or meal. By the end of the shift this position will need to provide department office assistant with a complete record of the foods provided, the number of meeting attendees, who the charges are to be made to, as well as the appropriate charges for the event. Position must be able to move from being the event planner, set up position to the waitress, bartender, or wine steward as needed.
This position will assume the responsibilities for the set up and service and tear down of food for the employees and visitors in the cafe and coffee shop in accordance with food safety regulations and facility standards for appearance and quality when assigned to the cashier position.. This position must be able to assist guests in making menu selections and market upcoming café or coffee shop promotions. Position is responsible for making coffee specialty drinks according to set recipes and standards. This position is responsible for the monitoring and recording food temperatures assuring safe food service and food holding. This position is responsible for operating cash register software for numerous cashier functions and using the department safe for secure deposits and change funds, counting deposits, reconciling cash at the end of the shift per facility standards. This position will take special orders for take out orders for a variety of events and get the orders to the appropriate production staff.
This position is responsible for a variety of food service, food stocking, food delivery and clean up tasks either while completing opening or closing up the department general supervision of the Food Production Coordinator. Routine verbal or written assigned tasks include portioning food for patient food service using strict time, temperature and labeling standards; accurately delivering trays to the right location; washing dishes, pots and pans utilizing the appropriate equipment, procedures and chemicals while monitoring appropriate temperatures for sanitation requirements, cleans kitchen equipment, carts and coolers; and log temperatures and observations in an acceptable format. This position is responsible for inventory, ordering supplies, stocking and cleaning vending and liquid coffee concentrate machines throughout the facility when assigned to do so. Uses a computer for monitoring own payroll, to keep up to date on hospital communications such as policies and weekly newsletters and to complete mandatory training.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
